Hebron Association Meets

Elyria, OhioForty pastors representing 30 churches in the Hebron Association of Regular Baptist Churches recently met with Jim Vogel, associate national representative of the GARBC, to discuss “Tools and Tips for Local Church Outreach.”

“We need to make sure the church’s DNA has evangelism and outreach built into it,” Vogel said. “This is taught in the Great Commission, taught in epistles, and is a major emphasis in our doctrinal statements.”

Vogel also suggested that churches carefully assess their outreaches, evaluating “what their budget looks like, what their staffing looks like, and what their pastoral example looks like.”

The pastors meet September through April for a time of worship, prayer, testimony, and ministry development. In the spring, the representative congregations meet for an annual event. Recently celebrating its 80th anniversary, the Hebron Association of Regular Baptist Churches was organized five years prior to the founding of the GARBC in 1932.
