GOSHEN, Ind.—First Baptist Church is the birthplace of Gospel Literature Services. Mike Riley, a member of the church, heard missionaries’ cry for Sunday School materials and began sending the used curriculum the church had accumulated. From that vision, Gospel Literature Services was born in 1973 and Mike Riley assumed the post of the first director.
Chris Hindal, the current GLS director, participated in a three-day weekend missions conference at First Baptist. Pastor Gregg Lanzen is leading this congregation to involve itself in the community. Among other ministries, the church hosts the July 4 citywide fireworks display called Celebrate America. About 25,000 people attend.
Chris says he enjoyed a great time of fellowship with the pastoral staff and the other missionaries. The church continues as a strong supporter of Gospel Literature Services.
- Ministries around the world are able to train church leaders and reach people with the gospel through resources sent by Gospel Literature Services. Those shipments wouldn’t be possible without the financial support of believers. Join GLS’s Formula 300, a team of 300 members who will rise up and stand by GLS to accomplish its number-one goal—getting Regular Baptist Sunday School curriculum to national churches around the globe.
