CAMBRIDGE, IOWA—Seven senior high teens with leaders Michelle Barnes, Dan and Tiffany Hartwig, and Pastor Doug Brown, all from Faith Baptist Church, Cambridge, Iowa, took a sixteen-day missions trip to France (June 21-July 6, 2007) with missionaries Andrew and Wanda Barnes (Baptist Mid-Missions) and Mark and Denise Nelsen (Baptist World Mission). During the first week of the trip they toured France, visiting and meeting more than a dozen French pastors and missionaries. They learned more about the Protestant Reformation in France
by visiting places such as the birthplace of John Calvin in Noyon; the first French Baptist church, located in Nomain; the Huguenot (French Protestant) stronghold city of La Rochelle; the Catholic shrine in Lourdes; and the Tower of Constance in Aigues-Mortes (where Protestant women were imprisoned after Louis XIV revoked the Edict of Nantes, thus forbidding Protestantism in France until the French Revolution). The second week involved evangelistic ministries in La Rochelle.
