cr-inline.jpgCEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa—Guests at the 2008 GARBC Conference have donated hundreds of pounds of canned good and supplies to various Cedar Rapids relief organizations in a project organized by Baptist Builders Club. Pastor Troy Weigart of Blair Ridge Baptist Church (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) coordinated the delivery for the three pallet loads of food that were gratefully accepted by Kevin Uhde, principal of Viola Gibson Elementary School, on behalf of area food pantries.

Michael Nolan, director of Baptist Builders Club, had previously met with Iowa pastors to discuss relief efforts to several towns devastated by the recent floods. As messengers attended the recent conference sessions, they dropped off bags of canned goods at the Baptist Builders Club booth. The donations were trucked to Cedar Rapids on the final day of the conference.
