Weston-MI_INWESTON,  Mich.—First Baptist Church reached a milestone, having been organized for 175 years. More than 150 members, former members, and friends commemorated the occasion on Oct. 6.

Seven former pastors were in attendance and participated by sharing testimonies and special music. Former member Howard Love, an ordained minister in Peoria Heights, Ill., was the keynote speaker, addressing the anniversary’s theme, “Holding Forth the Word of Life” from Philippians 2:16.

State Representative Nancy Jenkins presented to Pastor Duane Cross and the board a recognition plaque from the state of Michigan.

Following the service, guests gathered in a tent on the church grounds to enjoy a catered meal.
