MARILLA, N.Y.—“Issues Facing Today’s Families” was the theme of the October 19-20 Fall Family Bible Conference of the Empire State Fellowship, hosted by the First Baptist Church here (just a few miles east of Buffalo). Dr. Steve Viars from Faith Baptist Church, Lafayette, Indiana, in his vivacious manner preached four powerful messages. Three others from Lafayette, Dr. Dan Wickert, Dr. Amy Baker, and Joe Blake, along with twelve New York pastors and an attorney conducted pertinent workshops dealing with a wide range of timely topics. Nearly five hundred people (including 170 youth) were able to choose from more than 40 workshop opportunities.

Meals for the families were provided in the gymnasium at an affordable price, giving ample time for encouraging fellowship. Mike Briggs, worship pastor of Marilla, led the singing and interspersed special music. Every family was once again reminded of the sufficiency of the Scriptures to give guidance and help for today’s families, no matter what issues or problems they are facing.
