Elyria Women Host Spring Luncheon

ELYRIA, Ohio—The women of of First Baptist Church have met for their their annual spring luncheon, held in the beautiful Garden Room at the nearby Oberlin Inn. Jeannie Vogel, the women’s ministry consultant and workshop leader for Regular Baptist Press, was the guest speaker.

Seventeen women from a Bible study group at Faith Baptist Community Center, Cleveland, were also guests for the day. Most of these women were saved and discipled through the efforts of Baptist Mid-Missions missionaries or the ministry of the Wellness and Pregnancy Center in Cleveland. Jen Burman and Amy Phillips provided music. Debbie Quick, wife of senior pastor Brad Quick, led a prayer of dedication for the leadership team.

Recently the church reorganized all of their women’s ministries so that they function together under the leadership of Barbara Anderson, the women’s ministries coordinator. Various ministries include Bible studies, women’s missionary fellowship, and e-mail coutreach to armed forces personnel, college students, and shut-ins. The church’s care ministry, Tastes of Grace, ministers to the sick and grieving, while the More than Mommies ministry encourages young families.
