Don’t Call It a Bus

DUNDEE, Ill.—A newly renovated church bus, now called a Mobile Ministry Command Vehicle, made its debut as Fox Valley Baptist Church participated in two local National Night Out Against Crime events in August. The police departments plan these evenings to be a fair-like atmosphere for the purpose of uniting people and highlighting positive opportunities in the community.

Fox Valley Baptist provided fair-type games, along with water bottles and Christian literature. Church folks circulated among the crowd to share the good news and to tell about the church’s ministries. Renovated with a comfortable air-conditioned cabin area, an eye-catching paint job, and storage in the rear for games and ministry supplies, the bus proved its usefulness by serving as a cooling center in 90-degree temperatures on the second day of the Night Out.

The church praises God for opportunities to be in the community and to share the ministry with others. More recently, the church used the MMCV at a local Wendy’s, bringing out fair games and registering kids for Awana. Wendy’s donated 15 percent of all sales to the church and said the place is usually empty on a week night, but on the night the church was there, it was full. The event was a great witness to the folks at Wendy’s as well as a great opportunity for the church to reach out again.
