Couples Challenged to Adopt “Spiritual Exercises”

By March 30, 2009June 21st, 2014No Comments

GULL LAKE, Mich.—”Staying in Touch” was the theme of a marriage retreat at the Gull Lake Retreat Center, sponsored by the Southern Michigan regional fellowship of the Michigan Association of Regular Baptist Churches. Twenty couples attended, and Dr. Dave and Carolyn Culver of Heritage Baptist Church, Clarks Summit, Pa., were the guest speakers.

The participants were greatly encouraged as the Culvers shared meaningful lessons, challenging the couples to daily integrate into their marriage these exercises: note current blessings from God, share specific praises about the person of God, and develop the discipline of praying together for each other.

Be in prayer for these precious couples to continue to draw nearer the Lord and to each other and that God may be glorified through them.

The SMARBC aims to partner with churches throughout Michigan to provide meaningful retreats for the couples in the state. Stronger marriages result in stronger families, which result in stronger churches for the further development of God’s work.
