ANKENY, Iowa—On Oct. 22 and 23, preachers and “future preachers” (high school boys) met at Faith Baptist Bible College & Theological Seminary for its Future Preachers Conference. Future Preachers is a local church program that Faith President Dr. James D. Maxwell III developed to mentor young men for ministry.

The conference included general sessions in which all the men and boys met together, and breakout sessions for each group. John Greening, GARBC national representative, was the featured speaker for the conference. Pastor Miles Grismore (Faith Baptist Church, Mason City, Iowa), Pastor Rod Bradley (True Bible Baptist Church, Des Moines, Iowa), and Pastor Scott Jones (Southport Baptist Church, Kenosha, Wis.), also addressed the group. Jason Blunk and Doug Brown of Faith challenged the high schoolers.

A special feature this year was the Future Preachers preaching contest. Sam Jones, a senior from Calvary Baptist Church, Union, Iowa, won the contest this year.

The Future Preachers program and conference are part of Faith’s commitment to train preachers.
