NEW WOODSTOCK, N.Y.—With the theme “Israel and the Middle East,” each attendee gained a greater appreciation for Israel and God’s Chosen People, along with gaining a more urgent need to pray for them. The event was the Spring Conference of the Empire State Fellowship at Open Door Baptist Church.
The 300 attendees from 74 churches learned and received encouragement from the superb teaching of Dr. Renald Showers, prolific writer and renowned prophecy speaker with Friends of Israel. Dr. Showers presented these messages: “Israel and God,” “Israel and the Abrahamic Covenant,” “Israel and Jerusalem,” and “Israel and Islam.”
Complementing Dr. Showers’ messages were videos filmed in Israel by Mart DeHaan and Jimmy DeYoung from Day of Discovery, and photos from Holy Land trips by two pastors, L. D. Maxson and Alan Lindmark, making it possible for all to view places in the Promised Land where Bible events occurred. Some indicated hope that they, too, could someday visit the land where Jesus walked.
