Colorado TFC Competition

Although participants were few, the Colorado Talents For Christ competition, held March 23 at South Holly Baptist Church in Centennial, highlighted great talent. Keri Lightfoot, a junior from Rustic Hills Baptist Church, Colorado Springs, and Carrie Horner, also a junior from Airport Boulevard Baptist Church, Aurora, competed against each other in the female voice category. Both girls chose challenging music and performed their pieces well. In the end they were separated by less than two-tenths of a point, with Keri Lightfoot receiving a first-place rating. Both girls scored well enough to move on to the national competition.

Sr. High students (grades 7–9) are able to participate noncompetitively in Colorado as an opportunity to build their experience. Chelsea Miller (daughter of Tom and Nancy Miller, Campus Bible Fellowship leaders at the University of Colorado) competed in the Strings category with her violin and received a first-place rating.

Each participant received a certificate and a gift card to Mardel Stores for their efforts.
