CHICAGO, Ill.—Youth groups from GARBC churches in New Jersey, Indiana, and Michigan gathered last week for Vision For Youth’s annual inner-city youth missions trip, “New Hope for Chicago.”

Teenagers from First Baptist Church in Hackensack, N.J.; First Baptist Church in Princeton, Ind.; and Northeastern Baptist Church in Kalamazoo, Mich., participated in hands-on evangelistic endeavors in the Cicero neighborhood (a largely Hispanic community) of downtown Chicago. The week featured training sessions in evangelism and cross-cultural communication followed by door-to-door literature distribution, children’s carnivals in community parks, personal evangelism contacts, and a daily Bible conference.

The goal of New Hope for Chicago is that the teens would have a greater confidence to share their faith at home. Plus, the students had the opportunity to work alongside other teenagers from around the country as a tangible visual aid of what God can do in the lives of other young people.
