Church Reunion Held for Former Members

MARILLA, N.Y.—First Baptist Church held a church reunion on Sunday, July 5, for former members of the church who had moved away. Three former pastors spoke, and the church honored all those who grew up in the church and are now serving in some form of full-time vocational Christian ministry. More than 100 “old time” members of the church came for the special occasion. Eight men who are from Marilla, or whose wives grew up there, are now serving as pastors. After the homecoming celebration service, everyone enjoyed a church picnic at the church’s recreation park.

In addition, special recognition was given to those faithful church members who were around 50 years ago. Though not all still live in Marilla, they all regard First Baptist as their church home and have fond memories of their years in the church. For attendees, the homecoming celebration was a little foretaste of the joy of fellowship that will take place in Heaven. Richard Seefried is the current pastor of First Baptist.
