Toledo Church Encouraged to Pray, Give, and Go

Emmanuel Baptist Church, Toledo, Ohio, dedicated the month of March to learning about and supporting missions.

The church kicked off its monthlong emphasis with an international choir made up of members of the church and friends from Africa. “It was such a great way to worship our Savior and celebrate His work around the world,” the church says.

During the month, the church family also heard several missionaries share what God is doing around the world. The missionaries spoke to the congregation during worship services from the pulpit or via video. On a Sunday evening, the church family watched a documentary called I Once Was Blind, highlighting the spread of the gospel in West Africa.

Along with these opportunities, women gathered one Saturday morning for breakfast at the church, where they heard a spiritual challenge from a missionary and prayed for missions around the world. Men held a similar event the previous Saturday morning.

Through its missions month, Emmanuel Baptist encouraged the church family to support missions by praying, giving, and going.

Missions is fueled by a love for God’s Word and a desire to see nations profess faith in Christ, says Pastor Duke Crawford.

Believers “are given a purpose,” he says. “And part of that purpose is that the nations might hear and know and believe and follow and love and worship the God of Heaven.”
