Restored Church, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, hosted a Thanksgiving food distribution for its community November 21.
The church prepared 20,000 pounds of groceries to be given away to hundreds of families. The church served 375 families.
Pastor Tim Walker says he’s “grateful to Generate for helping to make this possible!” Generate, part of Regular Baptist Ministries, equips churches and leaders to share the gospel through grants, consultation, and coaching.
“We did this because there was a need in the community,” says Trisha Gaugler, coordinator for the food distribution. The church hoped that by meeting the need for food, people would become familiar with the church and would want to learn more about God’s love for them.
“Including what we distributed [November 21], we’ve now served almost one million pounds of groceries to our city in the past two and half years,” the church says.
