Pastors and wives from the Illinois-Missouri Association of Regular Baptist Churches met April 25–26 for a time of fellowship, rest, and encouragement from the Word.
Gathering for the retreat at a hotel in East Peoria, Illinois, the group heard a “timely and much needed” message from Jim Tillotson, president of Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary, says Dave Fox, pastor of Grace Church, Springfield, Illinois. Teaching from the life of Elijah, Jim shared “how to stay refreshed in ministry in the face of ministry challenges.”
In a breakout session, Jim gave the men practical tips on being godly, loving leaders at home, while Jim’s wife, Joan, shared with the wives ministry lessons she had learned.
The retreat “was a wonderful time together with our fellowship’s pastors and wives,” Dave says. “Lots of laughs, lots of fun, lots of encouragement.”
The Illinois-Missouri association thanks fellowshipping churches “for loving your pastor and wife well and encouraging them to attend events like this. It really is important.”
