CrossRoad Baptist Church, Ames, Iowa, has called Luke Scallon as senior associate pastor, with an emphasis in discipleship and administration. He was previously pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Laurel, Maryland, since 2017, and Faith Baptist Church, Danville, Iowa, from 2014 to 2017.
Luke attended CrossRoad Baptist from 2006 to 2014. During that time he was involved in several ministries, including the college ministry and international ministry; completed two internships, one beginning in 2008 under George Hatfield, who leads the international ministry, and another beginning in 2012 under Pastor Will Hatfield; and met his wife, Diane.
“We really learned that we loved serving together,” Luke says of himself and Diane.
The couple got married in 2009 and are thankful for God’s leading in their lives. “God brought Diane from Malaysia to Canada to Iowa,” Luke says. “He’s sovereign and in charge.” God’s plan “is better than anything I could map out.”
Diane is now administrative assistant to the national representative for Regular Baptist Ministries and the author of Against the Tide: Godly Living in a Godless World.
Luke says he is “incredibly grateful for godly mentors” who invested in his life. “In the same way, I find my greatest joy in investing in others, so that they may have hope in Jesus and find guidance in God’s Word.”
