First Baptist Church, Marilla, New York, called Kevin Leary as pastor. He was previously pastor of First Baptist Church, Hamburg, New York, since February 2002.
First Baptist Church in Marilla installed him to the role in a service on January 28.
Kevin is a 1993 graduate of Baptist Bible College and completed an MA in Biblical studies from Piedmont University in 2012.
First Baptist Church has existed since May 1873. “This church was founded by a group of like-minded believers who desired to see the gospel spread to the small farming community of Marilla and surrounding areas,” the church says.
In 2013 First Baptist was given land that the church developed into its Creation Walk Nature Trail and soccer fields.
The church says, “This trail has become a very popular place for our community to enjoy God’s creation and be inspired by our Creator. The soccer fields host our Micro-kickers soccer ministry and local soccer teams, as well as an open place for the community to play.”
