Iowa Association Meets in Ankeny

By April 10, 2025No Comments

“The Marvelous Mystery of the Church” was the theme for the Iowa Association of Regular Baptist Churches’ 2025 Conference. Ankeny (Iowa) Baptist Church hosted the conference April 7–8.

Keynote speaker Pat Odle, president of Baptist Mid-Missions, preached from Ephesians 3 and 4 on “God’s Praiseworthy Purposes for His Church.”

In addition to hearing from Pat, guests attended workshops with Jeff Holub of Bibles International; Jeff Musgrave of The Exchange evangelism training; Steve Anderson, who serves in church planting and revitalization with Baptist Mid-Missions; Joan Tillotson, whose husband, Jim, is president of Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary; and Carrie Augsburger, whose husband, Lance, is pastor of Maranatha Baptist Church, Grimes, Iowa.

A highlight of the conference was the combined testimony of Jared Segerstrom, pastor of Carlisle (Iowa) Baptist Church, and Mike Augsburger, pastor of Soteria Church, West Des Moines, Iowa. They described Jared being sent out from Soteria’s pastoral staff last year to become the pastor in Carlisle with the supporting partnership of Soteria. Soteria also gave Carlisle Baptist several church members and a financial gift. Jared said he wants to build church health and plans for Carlisle to plant other churches.

In business matters for the association, Tim Capon, IARBC state representative, introduced eight new pastors serving in the fellowship’s churches and the newly elected pastors joining the association’s Council of Ten.
