At Clear Lake (Iowa) Regular Baptist Church, a Father’s Day prank on dads brought lots of laughs—and a few groans—when 17 men showed up to the church wearing the same shirt.
Women from the church had gotten together to order the same shirt for their husbands to wear to church on Father’s Day.
The morning of Father’s Day, Pastor Jason Reynolds thought it was odd that his wife, Amy, had given him a short-sleeve dress shirt, since he normally wears long-sleeve dress shirts.
Wearing the new shirt, he walked into the church and saw another man wearing an identical shirt. “Great wives must think alike,” Jason told him.
But when the next man walked into the church, wearing the same shirt, Jason knew all the dads had been set up.
Some of the men figured out the prank before they had even walked into the building. In the parking lot, one man, Peter, saw another, Justin, wearing the same shirt, but Peter didn’t say anything. Then Peter saw another identical shirt, turned around, and started walking back to his car. His wife, Gina, reeled him back. Meanwhile, Justin told his wife, Becky, “You got me good.”
At the end of the worship service, 14 of the men gathered for a photo. The rest escaped before the photo could be taken.
