Donn Hauser Retires from Towanda, Pennsylvania

Donn Hauser retired from Independent Baptist Church, Towanda, Pennsylvania, where he was pastor for 31 years.

Donn spent 12 years as a Baptist Mid-Missions missionary in Alaska before answering the call to come back home to Towanda, where he followed his dad into the pulpit. His dad was pastor of the church from 1950 to 1993.

Donn’s time at Independent Baptist Church includes a rich legacy of preaching God’s Word, recognized by both the church and community alike. He was loved as a pastor for his humility, compassion, faithfulness, and godly character.

His ministries during his pastoral years were well represented by the speakers in his retirement service: Jim Lytle (former president of Clarks Summit University), Jeff Howell (pastor friend in the Pennsylvania Association of Regular Baptist Churches), Craig Dawsey (coach for a high school football team, for which Donn serves as chaplain), Lloyd Vaughn (former assistant pastor who served with Donn for 25 years), and Steve Douglas (lifelong friend and an Independent Baptist Church missionary to Peru).

Lunch followed the service at the Bradford County Airport. Donn and his wife, Lynn, concluded the day by flying off in his Stinson airplane.

Eddie Newton has stepped up to be the pastor of the church after serving there as pastor of family ministries since 2022.
