Church Breaks Ground for Addition

By June 12, 2023No Comments

First Baptist Church, Rochester, Michigan, celebrated the ground-breaking of its building project.

The project for the 50-year-old building consists of an 8,500-square-foot children’s classroom wing, a major expansion and renovation of the lobby, renovation of the worship center, and additional parking.

“Today we are standing on the shoulders of those who went forward in faith in the past, and now it’s our turn,” Pastor Mark Cizauskas said to the gathered church family.

First Baptist Church began in 1854 and met in its original building for 119 years before relocating in 1973. The church “looks forward to continuing to minister to the community for years to come.”

The project is scheduled for completion in June 2024.
