200 Years of Ministry in Cincinnatus, New York

By August 14, 2023No Comments

First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus, New York, celebrated its 200th anniversary July 21–23.

“What an amazing weekend,” the church says. “In a lot of ways it seemed like a giant family reunion—which just might be fairly accurate, as we are a part of the family of God.”

Highlights included an outdoor picnic (with chicken grilled by the Cincinnatus fire department), a look back at the church’s history, testimonies from current and former members, a celebration of missions work that the church has participated in, and a look ahead at the church’s future ministry.

All of the events and services throughout the weekend were “very meaningful and glorifying to God,” says Brian King, executive director of the Northeast Fellowship. “The future is as bright as the promises of God,” he told the church, quoting missionary William Carey.

Brian says Pastor Mark and Debbie Brown and the congregation “did an exceptional job creating a welcoming environment and providing special touches and attention to detail throughout the weekend.”

Member Elizabeth Eaton says, “We might be a small church, but we take joy in serving the Lord.”
