BINGHAMTON, N.Y.—During the week of July 20–24, Central Baptist Church, seeking to reach more community families, hosted its first ever High Power Soccer Camp, sponsored by Awana.
When planning the event, the church was told to expect 30 to 35 campers for the first year. However, God sent 62 children between the ages of five and 10. The design of the soccer camp is not only to teach soccer skills, but also to clearly present the plan of salvation daily to campers and the parents who would stay to listen and watch. Salvation decisions were made that week, and not only by children; one mother came to know the Lord as well! The Body of Christ worked together to reach the community and build unity among the believers. Praise the Lord for all He has accomplished!
