Missions Conference Highlights Regular Baptist Chaplaincy

Manning Brown, director and endorser of Regular Baptist Chaplaincy, and his wife, Jennifer, participated in a round-robin missions conference in Minnesota.

Calvary Baptist Church in Cambridge, Grace Baptist Fellowship in Sartell, Southbrook Baptist Church in Wadena, Woodland Baptist Church in Fergus Falls, and Faith Baptist Church in Sauk Centre each served as a host church October 22–26. Manning and four missionaries spoke at a different church each night on the theme “Here Am I. Send Me.”

“It was a fantastic event,” Manning says. “It was a joy to meet so many people and interact with other missionaries, and it was a privilege to share about the chaplaincy ministry. Most people know what a chaplain is but not what a chaplain does. When they realize that we are able to send chaplains to serve in the military, institutions, businesses, and communities, they are surprised by the breadth and depth of reach and impact chaplains can have.”

The event culminated with an evening of fellowship at Woodland Baptist Church in Fergus Falls with all the attendees and speakers.

Those attending the conference raised more than $25,000 to distribute to each speaker. “God uses the giving of His people to do His work,” says Jared Matthew, pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Sauk Centre.

Manning says, “I am overwhelmed by their generosity and enthusiasm for the chaplaincy ministry. The conference also generated interest by a couple of the pastors to possibly pursue serving as chaplains in their communities.”
