Celebration Sunday for Tuscon Church

TUCSON, Ariz.—Pastor Steve Carter reports that Sonoran Desert Baptist Church has now met in its new facility the last four Sundays, the furnishings are coming along little by little, the meetings have gone well, and the people are encouraged to have had some visitors attend. With the $2,600 per month that the church people have had to pay to rent the former meeting place, and with having to set up and tear things down every Sunday plus other challenges, a building is a tremendous cause for rejoicing.

This coming Sunday, March 16, is slated to be Celebration Sunday, with a continental breakfast and a special morning service, both geared to the guests. The church people plan to distribute 5,000 door hangers to announce the new facility and this event. With only eight people in the church physically able to pass out the information, readers of this news item are asked to pray for some additional people from sister churches who could help, to pray that many visitors might be able attend, and to pray that this small nucleus of believers and their facility will be able to handle the crowd who may come. The church has also announced the celebration in the newspapers, and a 30-second ad will be aired 25 times this week on three radio stations.

The church is located at 7620 N. Hartman Lane in Tucson.
