93 NY Teens Participate in Talents For Christ

HORSEHEADS, N.Y.—“It’s the best Saturday of my entire year. What a thrill to see and hear these godly gifted young people,” remarked Craig Golden, state representative of the Empire State Fellowship of Regular Baptist Churches, as 93 teens from 25 churches participated in the all-day Talents For Christ competition at First Baptist Church.

Young people in grades six through 12 competed in front of a panel of 43 judges in piano, voice, brass, woodwinds, strings, Bible knowledge, oral interpretation of Scripture, preaching, public speaking, visualized Bible teaching, and writing. Some teens chose to compete as groups in voice, instrumental ensembles, and puppets. Other teens competed in art, digital media, and the popular variety hour featuring ventriloquism, signing, guitar, duet, and reading.

Trophies and medallions were presented to first, second, and third place winners, while all were rewarded for doing their best as they shared their talents for the glory of God.
