The Essential Gospel

Dig out your summer clothes and get ready to pack your bags for a June getaway to the Sunshine State! Attendees at the 2014 General Association of Regular Baptist Churches Conference, June 23–27, will have the opportunity to enjoy the sun and tourist attractions while basking in a week of spiritual edification and fellowship. The sun, the center of our universe and a needed element for our survival, serves as a powerful illustration for the conference. As the sun is to our physical survival, the gospel is to our spiritual survival. The gospel is the core of our faith—essential for our being! This year’s conference takes a focused look at “The Essential Gospel.” Today and yesterday the gospel has been misconstrued, misinterpreted, and made into something that God in His Word did not intend. What implications does the gospel have on us as individuals, as churches, and as an association? The GARBC commits to clearly and accurately accomplishing the Great Commission, underscoring its belief in the justification, sanctification, and ultimately the glorification of the believer. While the gospel in broader evangelicalism has been hijacked, minimized, or glamorized, the GARBC passionately commits to the centrality of the gospel and to the authority the gospel has over believers’ lives. Workshops and interactive discussions will highlight specific aspects of the theme “The Essential Gospel,” offering practical ministry tips and small-church helps. For women, specially designed workshops and a lovely luncheon will enrich and uplift. The conference is an incredible time to come together with association family, make new friends and reconnect with old friends, receive encouragement, gain ministry resources, and discover all that the association has to offer. Experience Florida’s energizing glow. See you in the Sunshine State for an exceptional conference in scenic St. Petersburg. Lodging Our host facility, the Hilton Bayfront, provides an idyllic setting in which to relax. Walk along the water to area shops and restaurants and enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Rooms are $109 per night. Staying at the host hotel helps defray conference expenses. Call 1-800-HILTONS and mention group code “GEN” to book your room.
