Lawrence was employed with John Deere for 37 years. He then entered full-time ministry, serving at First Baptist Church, Peoria, Ill.; Yeddo Baptist Church, Kingman, Ind.; and First Baptist Church, Loup City, Neb. He most recently was a part-time chaplain at Bickford Cottage senior living center in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He had also been a board member of Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, whom he married on June 28, 1958; three daughters, Kelly Hagedorn, Suzanne Merchant, and Dianne Maravetz; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
