MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa—Pastor Mike Hess and Kevin Wagler of Calvary Baptist Church were involved in a recent missions trip to Santa Marta, Colombia, to help and encourage missionaries Jonathan and Holly Boyd, who serve with ABWE. The Boyds, along with missionaries Scott and Laura Carter and Colombian pastor Alfredo Medina and his wife, Juana, are looking to launch the church plant Impacto Biblico Iglesia Bautists (Biblical Impact Baptist Church) this month, December 2010. Pastor Hess preached and also did some teaching while there. Both he and Kevin (who serves as a deacon at CBC) were greatly impressed by the missionaries’ vision and motivation of saturating Santa Marta with the gospel. CBC of Mt. Pleasant regularly sends out teams to visit missionaries they support in order to encourage, edify, and ignite within people a passion to spread to the gospel to the nations of the world.
