Outdoor Adventure Shares Gospel with Hunting Enthusiasts

By February 11, 2015No Comments

PanaIL_inlinePANA, Ill.—First Baptist Church conducted its annual Outdoor Adventure outreach on Feb. 7. The event featured speaker Mike Roux, an award-winning writer and sought-after speaker on outdoor life. Mike has been a professional guide and game caller for over two decades and is a prolific fisherman and hunter. He gave an excellent workshop on advanced turkey hunting. He also had attendees on the edge of their seats, says Greg White, pastor of First Baptist, as he shared details of his hunting in South Africa along with a message on being available for God to use.

Jake Philips, a local hunter who has won National Wild Turkey Federation awards for his taxidermy work, presented a deer hunting workshop, sharing some of his secrets for successful deer hunting.

“Those attending were not only blessed through the speakers, they also enjoyed the exhibits of several local businesses that featured outdoor and sporting products,” White says. “The Outdoor Adventure is an enjoyable venue that offers the opportunity for people to hear the gospel. It has also successfully opened doors for future witness and ministry in the community.”
