MARSHALL, Minn.—First Baptist Church has extended a unanimous call to Zac Patke to serve as assistant to the pastor. This will be the first time in the congregation’s nearly 70-year history that it has had more than one staff member. Patke is a graduate of Faith Baptist Bible College. He and his wife, Hannah, have two sons, Daniel and Noah.
Patke brings experience and skills that can be used by the Lord for the building of His church. His education includes a stint in Baptist Mid-Missions’ Arriba program, an 11-month internship in the Peruvian mountain and coastal cities of Cusco, Lima, and Trujillo. He also spent time overseas in English as a Second Language ministry. These cross-cultural experiences, coupled with teaching ministries to children and youth in local church settings, should prove to be advantages in the multiethnic context of the Marshall congregation.
“Through this search process, the Patkes have demonstrated zeal, humility, and a willingness to extend themselves for the benefit of God’s people,” says Pastor Greg Linscott. “First Baptist is thankful for the clarity of God’s direction, and we look forward to working together for God’s glory in the days that lie ahead.”
