DES MOINES, Iowa—Northridge Baptist Church has called Ethan Long, one of its own members, as assistant pastor. Both Ethan and his wife, Jordyn, have attended and served at Northridge since they were in elementary school. Several years ago, Jordyn’s family moved to Runnells, Iowa, where they now attend Adelphi Baptist Church. But Jordyn returned to Northridge after marrying Ethan in May 2013.
Ethan, a graduate of Faith Baptist Bible College, served his pastoral apprenticeship during the summer and fall of 2013. He and Jordyn have served God and the church family through teaching, song-leading, neighborhood evangelism efforts, and working with youth of all ages and young adults.
“We have very much appreciated their eagerness, their teachable spirits, and their dedication to serve,” says Pastor Kevin Subra. “We are thankful for God’s blessing as He continues to help us accomplish His desire to raise up men and women for lifelong ministry in their local churches.”
