WARREN, Ohio—Women from central northeast Ohio churches met at Champion Baptist Church for a spring missions meeting April 17.

Attendees heard a speaker named Abby share how God has been leading her and her husband in their endeavor to serve as missionaries. The couple has been raising support to minister in an undisclosed field. Now at 57 percent of their support goal, the couple will leave in May or June to minister for a year.

“After sharing what God has been teaching her, she was asked many questions and openly shared her heart,” says Linda Pausley, wife of OARBC State Representative Chuck Pausley.

Debbie Garlich, pastor’s wife at Calvary Baptist Church in Hubbard, is president of this ladies’ missions group, a regional fellowship of the OARBC’s Ohio Women for Missions. She says she “can’t imagine doing ministry without the support of this group!”

While the ladies of this region of the OARBC met in Warren, Ohio, ladies in a different region met at Camden Baptist Church in Wellington.

The ladies explored the theme “Anchored in Christ” with speaker Beth Tanner, who serves with Campus Bible Fellowship International, the university ministry of Baptist Mid-Missions. In addition to hearing from Beth, the ladies watched a video from four missionaries, who shared what being “anchored in Christ” means to them.

Ohio Women for Missions comprises six regional fellowships, which meet as a whole twice a year—for a spring meeting and a fall retreat.

“Thank God for these faithful groups who promote missions among our churches!” Linda says.
