Coffee Giveaway

By March 17, 2010June 19th, 2014No Comments

front.jpgIn everything our church plant does, we seek to implement our mission of putting God’s love in action by Biblically building worship, relationships, and churches. Recently we extended God’s love to morning commuters by purchasing brewed coffee for them at a nearby train station. In making arrangements with the owner of the coffee shop located in the train station, we agreed to a flat fee that would cover the back.jpgowner’s expenses for the morning. We arrived at 5:15 a.m. and set signs on easels inside and outside the station with our church name and an announcement about free coffee. Our church people greeted commuters by passing out church info on business cards imprinted with “Love in Action” and telling them the church was buying everyone’s coffee that morning. A church member was available to interact with people who wanted more information.

We were able to begin building relationships during the 2 1/2-hour giveaway by interacting with over 400 people and giving away over 300 cups of coffee. By doing the event at a train station located in our church-plant area, we were able to connect with people in our community. The coffee shop owner was glad for the business. This outreach could take place in a non-commuter setting as well, using a local coffee shop.

We look forward to doing the coffee giveaway again in the same location to make connections with many of the same synergy-brooke.jpgpeople, and Lord willing, to continue developing relationships, resulting in spiritual fruit.
