In 2016 she and David retired and moved to Tracy, California, to be with their family. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Tracy, where her son-in-law, Timothy Heinrich, is pastor and where she served on the missions team.

She is survived by her husband, David; their daughter, Susan Heinrich; and four granddaughters.
