Shirley Ann Domokos, wife of a pastor and professor, died April 30. She was 87.
As a child, Shirley placed her faith and trust in Jesus Christ and, as an adult, spent her life serving her Lord however she could.
After high school, Shirley attended Cedarville College (now Cedarville University) and graduated with a major in music. While attending Cedarville, she met Robert Domokos, and they were united in marriage on June 30, 1962.
Shirley worked as a secretary while Robert was in seminary and was by his side as a pastor’s wife when he pastored churches in Indiana and Ohio, including Bible Baptist Church, Huntington, Indiana. Robert, Shirley, and their two children moved to Ankeny, Iowa, in 1972, when Robert became a professor at Faith Baptist Bible College.
Shirley used her musical ability to faithfully serve as church organist, and often pianist, including as organist at Ankeny Baptist Church for 40 years. After her children were grown, she worked part-time in the accounting office and then as the secretary for the Music Department at Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert, son Michael (Kimberly), daughter Brenda (Brian) Thomas, and granddaughters Jessica (Joshua) Carey and Lindsey Thomas.
