Ken Pierpont, 65, died February 19. Ken was a pastor in Michigan and Ohio, including a previous pastorate at Evangel Baptist Church, Taylor, Michigan.

Ken embraced life with a zeal for God, love for his family, and the power of a well-told story. From an early age, his gift with words and storytelling captivated those around him, foreshadowing a future rich in ministry and connection.

After accepting a call to serve as pastor at 17 years old, Ken dedicated his life to spreading the gospel and sharing the message of God’s great love with all who crossed his path. On the last day of his life he was able to lead a man to Christ on Sunday morning and then preach his last message at the church he pastored in Jackson, Michigan.

Ken was always seeking to lead people to put their trust in Christ and helping people see Jesus through the brokenness of this world. With warmth and sincerity, he ministered in churches, camps, nursing homes, and school chapels, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives.

He was also tireless in writing stories, essays, and books and producing encouraging podcasts that will live on at kenpierpont.com.

Ken is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lois; their eight children, Kyle (Elizabeth), Holly (Jesse) Long, Chuk (Cecilia), Heidi, Hannah (Dale) McBride, Daniel (Katelynn), Wesley (Dylan), and Hope (Tim) Kolb; 20 grandchildren; and three siblings, Melony (Jim) Evans, Kevin (Carolyn), and Nathan (Jennifer).
