Eugene “Gene” Murrell died February 26. He was 64.
Gene grew up in Mitchell, Nebraska, and graduated from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. There he met the love of his life, Vona Brodhead. They married on August 30, 1986, in Rochester, Minnesota.
Gene owned Gene Murrell Construction Company in Rochester and later spent 28 years working as a minister, including as associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Rochester, Minnesota. He also served as a board member and board chairman of Bass Lake Camp, Winnebago, Minnesota, and on the board of the Men for Christ rally.
Gene is survived by his wife, Vona; three children, Adam Murrell, Ashley (Kendrick) Bachman, and Amber (Bryant Zahradnik) Murrell; and nine grandchildren.
