Don Parvin, Pastor

XENIA, Ohio—Donald Adair Parvin, a pastor, died Nov. 16 at age 89.

Don served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Seaman First Class. He received his BA from Kings College in 1952 and an MDiv from Faith Seminary in 1956. Don was a minister for 45 years at First Baptist Church, Ogden, Pennsylvania; Immanuel Baptist Church, Columbus,  Ohio; Grace Baptist Church, Tonowanda, New York; and Calvary Baptist Church, Byesville, Ohio. He was also a Bible professor at Cedarville University for nine years and was a board member of the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism for 30 years. Following his retirement from the pastorate, he remained a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Byesville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, whom he married Aug. 30, 1952, and who died June 13, 2007, and an infant grandson, Benjamin Scott Parvin.

He is survived by a son, Donald; a daughter, Susan McCoy; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
