David L. Smith, a pastor, died August 22. He was 76.
Dave was the pastor of Ladysmith (Wisconsin) Baptist Church for many years and a chaplain for the Rusk County, Wisconsin, law enforcement.
His legacy will be remembered by the hundreds of lives his ministry touched. Many people came to faith in Jesus Christ through his faithful personal witness and preaching. Many marriages were rescued and put back together through his godly, Biblical counsel.
Dave was just a humble, small-town preacher, but he has a mighty God. Dave’s desire was to magnify Him around the world. Besides preaching throughout America, Dave also taught in several countries overseas.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; three sons, David, Timothy, and Scott; and nine grandchildren, one of whom will be brought into this world in November and whom Dave was eagerly waiting to meet.
