BAINBRIDGE, N.Y.—Chester Shew, a pastor, died Feb. 3. He was 84.
Chester graduated from Practical Bible Training School and Dallas Theological Seminary. He was a pastor in New York since 1978, serving at Clovesville Bible Baptist Church in Fleischmanns, Copiague Union Bible Church in Copiague, and First Baptist Church in Mount Upton, where he was currently pastor since 2009.
“We’re thankful for his faithful ministry and how he deeply impacted many with his teaching of God’s Word,” says Brian King, director of the Northeast Fellowship.
Chester is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathleen; a daughter, Kyra; a son, Michael; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place at First Baptist Church, Mount Upton, New York, April 24.
