Carolyn Hawbaker, a pastor’s wife, died October 21. She was 92.
Carolyn served alongside her husband, Everett, as he pastored churches for 50 years. They served at Hunt’s Corners Baptist Church, Marathon, New York; First Baptist Church, Webster City, Iowa; First Baptist Church, Reinbeck, Iowa; Bible Baptist Church, Huron, South Dakota; Grace Baptist Church, Lombard, Illinois; and Calvary Baptist Church, Bensenville, Illinois.
A former music major at Cornerstone University, Carolyn especially enjoyed singing and giving piano lessons. She also led women’s Bible studies, taught children’s Sunday School classes, and led children’s programs around the world. Her ministry, in tandem with Everett, impacted thousands of boys and girls and families in churches and camps over the years.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Everett, in 2012.
She is survived by her six children: Jim, Tom, Don, Karen Willey, Deanne Wynne, and Lori Harrison; 25 grandchildren; and 59 great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
