PORTERVILLE, Calif.—Atha Ray “Bud” Williams, a pastor, died Jan. 11. He was 83.
Bud held many jobs through his lifetime before becoming a pastor. He was a meat packer in his youth; pulled green-chain in northern California for Georgia Pacific; and was a saw filer, hotel manager, and lay preacher. He finally accepted a full-time position as the pastor of Ducor (California) Baptist Church, where he ministered for nearly 10 years.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Fern; three daughters, Brenda Wolf, Debra Bacarro, and Atha Brown; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
