LETTER FROM THE INTERIM NATIONAL REPRESENTATIVE
Greetings in the name of our wonderful Lord Jesus! February brings the appearance of Punxsutawney Phil, President’s Day, and every romantic’s holiday, Valentine’s Day. This year my wife, Debbie, and I celebrate 47 years of wedded bliss, and though it doesn’t seem possible, our love has grown and deepened far beyond its first blush. And what of our individual and associational love of Christ?
One of the most challenging Bible texts is Jesus’ correction of the church of Ephesus: “You have abandoned the love you had at first” (Rev. 2:4, CSB). It was not that they had lost their first love, but abandoned it. They left by deliberate movement their first love, for Christ and for one another.
This February let’s follow the omniscient counsel of Jesus Christ: “Remember then how far you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first” (Reb. 2:5, CSB). May God give you the joy of His love and the delight of love for Him. “Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ” (2 Thess. 3:5).
