Two Chicagoland churches came together for a “Carols & Candlelight” service on Christmas Eve. Faith Baptist Church, Winfield, Ill., and Great Commission Baptist Church, Schaumburg, Ill., enjoyed an evening of singing carols and rejoicing in the gift of Christ. During a time of reflection, Scott Greening, pastor of Great Commission Baptist Church, illustrated the concept of the facets of salvation by referring to the facets of a gem one might receive as a gift at Christmas. The particular facet of salvation highlighted during the Christmas Eve service was that of the provision of Immanuel, God with us. The service concluded with the lighting of candles and singing “Silent Night.”
