Preaching That Connects

By February 8, 2013No Comments

Effective preachers move out of the way and let God do the preaching. The “Prince of Preachers” Charles Spurgeon once said, “The Word of God is like a caged lion. I don’t have to defend it; I just open the door and let it out.” Every preacher wants to see the Word of God become that unleashed lion, powerfully connecting with and transforming lives. How does that happen on a practical level?

On Tuesday, Feb. 12, a four-week “Preaching That Connects” Learning Lab begins. Rich Van Heukelum, pastor of Shawnee Baptist Church in Shamong, N.J., leads the instruction and interactive discussion to encourage pastors to preach the Word and increase the impact on people’s lives through the local church.

Learning Labs are part of the Regular Baptist Web Community, which was launched at the beginning of the year. The goal of the Web Community is to take the collegiality, brain trust, and collaboration that exists in the GARBC and transfers these assets into a virtual environment.
