PortAngelesWA_inline PORT ANGELES, Wash.—Strait View Baptist Church called a recognition council to examine its constitution and bylaws. Strait View Baptist is a church plant that is a joint effort of Faith Baptist Church, Sequim, Wash., and Continental Baptist Missions. The new church intends to apply for fellowship with the GARBC in the near future. Pastor Timothy Kluver, a church planter with CBM sent by Evangel Baptist Church, Bradenton, Fla., leads the church.

Bill Jenkin, president of CBM, was appointed moderator of the council, which included 10 pastors, messengers, and Christian leaders. Jeremy Fodge of Faith Baptist Church was clerk. At the close of the meeting the council voted to recognize Strait View Baptist as a duly constituted Baptist church. They also commended Kluver and Lonnie Jacobson, pastor of Faith Baptist, for thinking of the future and the people of Strait View Baptist and for their visionary leadership in planting the church.

A celebration service immediately followed the council meeting. Andy Goad, pastor of Evangel Baptist Church, brought a challenge to the pastor; Jacobson brought a challenge to the church.
