Welcome New Churches!

A warm welcome was extended to the following churches as they were approved by GARBC Conference messengers to come into the Association as church plant/mission status:

Eglise Evangelique Baptiste Salem (Elmont, N.Y.), Pastor Jacquelin and Murielle Saint-Preux
Filipino-Spanish International Baptist Church (Stockton, Calif.), Pastor Jim and Carol Garcines
Great Commission Baptist Church (Schaumburg, Ill.), Pastor Scott and Brooke Greening

It’s exciting to have multi-cultural churches added to the Fellowship! For listing of church adds/drops for GARBC listing of churches, see Baptist Bulletin. For more information about your church fellowshipping  in the GARBC, contact John Greening, GARBC National Representative.

Great Week for Students Alive!

Spiritual food, friendships, and fun made for an exciting Students Alive! program led by Lance Augsburger during the 2009 GARBC Conference. On Tuesday night the teens participated in a community outreach by distributing cookies and invitations to Elyria residents to attend church services. During the Wednesday youth rally students enjoyed driving go karts, playing laser tag, navigating bumper boats, and golfing at Swings and Things. On Thursday morning, National Representative John Greening presented GARBC Student Service Awards to McKenzie Baker, Katie Foy, and Jennifer Nierman. See Baptist Bulletin. Each morning and evening students received challenges from God’s Word. Next year Students Alive! will take place in the Chicago area in Arlington Heights, IL,–a great place to bring your youth group!
